Drug Dose

Therapeutic Indications:

Ethinylestradiol is combined with other drugs for use as a contraceptive, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, moderate acne, moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms of menopause, prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Mechanism of Action:

Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic estrogenic compound.

Method of Administration:

Hypoestrogenism:

10 to 50 mcg daily

Menstrual disorder:

20 to 50 mcg daily from day 5 to 25 of each cycle

Post-menopausal symptoms:

10 to 50 mcg daily

Notes

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Ethinylestradiol, cancer or other estrogen dependent neoplasia, DVT, PE

Interactions:

Avoid concomitant use of Ethinylestradiol with: Anastrozole, Exemestane, tranexamic acid

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use is contraindicated in Pregnancy and Lactation.

Warning and Precaution:

The use of medicine has been associated with a slight increased risk of breast cancer.

Take care in case of:

Cardiovascular disease, hyper triglyceridemmia

Adverse Reactions:

Cerebrovascular accident, coronary artery disease, hypertension, thrombosis, headache, mood changes, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, endometrial carcinoma

Storage:

Store below 30 and protect from light and moisture.
